5 Ways to Improve Blog Traffic

A link cluster is a group of links that you can point at a post or page to improve its search engine ranking. Let’s say you have a post that’s ranked for ‘stupid business ideas’. Edit 10 of your other posts to create links (using ‘stupid business ideas’ as the anchor text) to the ‘stupid business ideas’ post and you will surely move up in Google for that keyword.

1. Create link clusters within your blog

2. Rework HTML title tags of trafficked posts

By watching your stats, you can often identify posts that get search traffic from a keyword, even though the keyword isn’t listed in the HTML title of the post. By editing your posts’ HTML titles to add the keywords they cover, you can strengthen the rankings and therefore the traffic that the post generates. You can easily make a difference with this method in less than few minutes.

3. Invite your readers to connect with you on StumbleUpon and Facebook

You can never ever have too many friends on SU and Facebook. Inviting existing readers to find you on these services with a post should take less than few minutes.

4. Save your best posts for the best times of the week

Writing a home-run post on a Saturday afternoon will probably happen from time to time. However, does your blog have good traffic on Saturdays? Analyzing your blog’s stats to determine when it naturally has the most traffic can get more eyes on a great post, which will translate to more social votes and more links.

5. Edit your post one more time

How can you improve your first paragraph? Small details in your post, especially in the beginning of your post, can make an enormous difference in its ability to draw social traffic and links. You can definitely improve your title, first paragraph, formatting, and grammar within few minutes.

Britney Spears' marriage proposal knocked back by latest boyfriend

THE boyfriend of pop princess Britney Spears has knocked back a marriage proposal from the world famous singer she made on her tour here.

Just as it worked its magic on megastars Elton John and Michael Jackson, Sydney apparently brought Spears to her knees on Friday when she is said to have proposed marriage to her manager-boyfriend of some three years, Jason Trawick.

Perhaps feeling emotionally open after a difficult Australian tour, the serial bride with two failed marriages at age 27 is said to have been devastated by the rejection.

The handsome celebrity agent, who flew to Australia from LA two weeks ago bringing Spears' two young sons with him, is credited with helping the pop star claw her way back from a very public breakdown two years ago.

While involved with Trawick, Spears has grown into a mature woman who now eschews the substances that once threatened to destroy her stellar career.

"She is in love with the idea of marriage," a source said. "She has been married only twice, but has proposed to many more."With his background in celebrity management it appears Trawick is unfazed by fickle fame and does not take marriage lightly.

The knockback may have caused ripples - on Friday night, for what is said to be the first time in the month-long tour, she gave an impromptu address to her audience, with one tour source saying she introduced a song on these lines: "Have you ever really loved somebody? Have you ever really been hurt by somebody?"

Spears settles with photographer

Pop star Britney Spears and a photographer who claimed she ran over his foot in her car have settled a lawsuit, court records show.

Ricardo Mendoza sued the singer in May, accusing her of assault, battery and negligently driving her car in Beverly Hills in 2007.

Details of their settlement have not been disclosed.

At the time of the incident, Mr Mendoza was working for Hollywood-based showbiz website TMZ.

The site auctioned his tyre-stained sock off to the singer's fans and donated the proceeds to charity.

The incident happened on the day that Spears lost custody of her two sons.

Last week, the singer went straight to the top of the US charts with latest single 3.

It was the first single to debut at the top of the Hot 100 chart in more than three years, according to Billboard magazine.

The track is the only new song included on a greatest hits CD due for release next month.

Britney Spears Orders Drug Testing for Workers on “Circus” Concert Tour in Australia

According to an article in the Herald Sun, Australia's largest-selling daily newspaper, Spears has demanded that the 225 members of the support crew working on her sold-out “Circus” concert tour – including 150 local staff – must obey the terms of a confidential contract that orders them to undergo random alcohol and drug testing while in Australia, and workers refusing or breaching those “zero tolerance” terms will have their contracts terminated.

The alcohol and drug testing will involve giving a urine sample to Spears' tour management team, and those who sign the contract are bound by a confidentiality agreement, the Herald Sun reported after being shown the confidential contract for alcohol and drug testing by a concert industry insider. Spears – who will perform in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth while in Australia in November – carried out similar alcohol and drug testing before and during her U.S. tour and before her European dates, according to the Herald Sun.

Whether a rich and famous pop star known worldwide like Britney Spears or an unknown owner of a small business trying to gain recognition, employers of all types and sizes need to use drug testing in order to ensure a drug-free workplace that lowers the risk of liability and lessens the chance for lost productivity. Many employees have already implemented a drug testing program for both pre-employment background screening purposes and random drug testing re-screening after employees are hired.
